Affiliate Marketing Success - It's like a catch 22 sometimes

Hey welcome back. I’ve got a brief post for you today. It has to do with building your online credibility in order to achieve affiliate marketing success. Can you remember back to when you were trying to get your first job? Do you remember what they wanted?

They wanted you to have experience. Remember that? I use to say that if they wanted me to get experience they should give me the job! You know that didn’t go over too well.lol

Well when it comes to establishing your credibility online it’s almost like a catch 22. Nobody will really deal with you until you’ve proven yourself, but then noone wants to give you the opportunity to prove yourself. It’s like a sick loop from a tired song that keeps playing round and round in your head. aargh!

So what can you do? Well do you remember what you did to get over that first hurdle years ago? You pretty much took any job no matter how small or insignificant it seemed at the time in order to build up your resume. However you didn’t work at that menial job for a couple of days and then quit, because that wouldn’t help… no, you worked at the job for a few months, if not for at least a year or two in order to have something to work with.

Achieving the level of affiliate marketing success you desire can be much the same way. If you haven’t made a dime online, then it’s important first of all to make some money before you start trying to help others to do the same. You don’t necessarily have to make a million dollars, but you do need to make a few hundred to a couple thousand to at least have some kind of experience to speak from.

It doesn’t matter what niche you make that money in, what matters is that you make it as this will give you a decent level of credibility. Now there is another way you can work to establish your credibility. Want to know what it is? I know you do and here it is…

Help others who are where you want to be. First of all how do you get in touch with other marketers who are at the level you want to be at? One very easy way to do this is to respond to any one of the emails they send you. But before you do, there is something very important you have to do first…

Don’t ask for anything. Huh? Well how am I going to get help if I don’t ask? You gotta realize that they are successful because they are busy doing what it takes to make it happen. They’re not going to drop what they are doing just to focus on little ‘ole you.

So what can you do? Offer to help them in some way, even if it’s with promoting their product. Try your best to move as much of their product as possible. Can you write articles or create promotional videos that they might be able to use? Offer your help without asking anything in return and you’ll find that the law of reciprocity will yield it’s reward in due time and to your maximum benefit.

I know it seems like a position of weakness and noone likes to feel like a scrub, but to be quite honest with you, it’s more an exhibition of strength of character. You see, in business, people don’t care what you say, until they see what you do.

Think of your position as one of an apprentice. If you can develop a relationship with someone more successful than you, there will be some spillover and you may in effect become guilty by association. Guilty of being successful and establishing your credibility along the way on two fronts.
