Affiliate Marketing – There’s what you want to hear and then there’s what you need to hear

Times are tough and people are desperate. Money is tight and jobs are getting harder and harder to come by and even harder to keep. With things being the way they are right now you could easily say it’s a sellers market but the truth is…

Buyers aren’t falling for it anymore. One of the easiest ways to generate some good income online with affiliate marketing is to identify a desperate market, find a product that offers a solution and get paid.

The only problem is that so many junk products have been created with the intention of just capitalizing on the desperate situations of others that the product itself offers no real value.

How many times can you kick a dog before he decides to bite back. So what is beginning to happen now thanks to more and more people speaking up and expressing their displeasure is that it’s getting harder and harder for the unscrupulous peddlers to push their trash through the B.S. filters they’ve helped many consumers to develop.

The FTC was going to end up cracking down on the nonsense sooner or later and to be quite honest with you, if you are operating your online business with integrity than you should be glad the FTC is leveling the playing field.

You know the old saying: “Nice guys finish last”. Well thanks to the new rules regarding disclosure and accountability for any false claims mentioned by the affiliate or the vendor, desperate consumers who are genuinely looking for a solution to their financial problems now stand a better chance of actually finding the right people who can and actually will help them.

This by no means shrinks the advantages associated with affiliate marketing, but now necessity is laid upon the merchant and the affiliate to do their due diligence with respects real and quantifiable results that can be achieved by the average consumer.

None of this is anything new and groundbreaking in any way, because it always made good sense to obtain a copy of the program you’re promoting or at least obtain a review copy so that you minimize the “look like an idiot” effect that occurs when you promote something that never contained the quality the sales letter bragged about in order to be worthy of your time and attention.

It all comes back to good business practices which further solidifies the fact that affiliate marketing, regardless of how easy it is to get started, is still a business.

So long as people are exchanging their hard earned dollar for the perceived value of the product on offer, it’s business.

Having said all that, I wish each and every reader and subscriber a most profitable 2010 and look forward to interacting and learning from your internet business success.
