Blogging For Money… Is It Worth The Trouble?

bloggingformoneyIf you look around it seems like every one is blogging. New blog’s are popping up left and right and a good question that you might have asked yourself is: “Is blogging for money worth it?’

When you consider the vast amount of blogs on the Google landscape it’s only reasonable to wonder if adding another blog about whatever you’re niche topic is, is worth the trouble.

After all you ‘ve got to constantly produce content that will build backlinks and develop a loyal readership. Not to mention that all of the work you’ll put into your blog probably won’t yield any real results for about six months to a year.

So the question is: “Why bother?’

Well let’s consider a few brief points that can help us to see why blogging for money is not necessarily a bad idea and how we can speed up the monetization process.

One of the immediate benefits of starting and maintaining a blog is for communication purposes. On a static website, you’re content is pretty much written in stone and your visitors and clients are limited in their ability to communicate their thoughts with you.

If you want to be able to monetize your blog successfully, then it’s important to be able to have a channel that allows you to find out what your visitors interests are and how you can improve your service and products.

While giving your visitors and  clients a way to communicate with you is important, you can also communicate with them and they can see that a real person is behind the domain name they’re visiting. Regular communication can help to establish trust and loyalty, two components sorely lacking on the world wide web.

Your blog can also be an excellent way to communicate with your email and rss subscribers as this element can add to a more casual and friendly environment that allows you to be yourself.

Many of the top marketers online have a blog for the purpose of being able to communicate with their subscriber base allowing them to develop a closer bond and get access to the necessary feedback for developing market specific products.

One last point not to overlook is the aspect of social proof. When others who may be visiting your blog for the first time are able to see positive and frequent interaction between you and your subscribers, this in effect lends to building your credibility as an expert.

Blogs can also help for branding purposes and the more interaction between your visitors, clients and other bloggers, the better your business will be in the long run. So is blogging for money worth the trouble? What’s your view? Why not leave a comment and share your thoughts?
