This is a dilemma that many newbies wrestle with because if you got involved with internet marketing to make money, how can you do that if you give your product away?
If you asked any number of people how much effort they put into consuming a free information product and actually using the content, my guess is that the number of people who would raise their hands, would be low.
Why is that? After all isn’t that what they wanted, the product for free?
Here’s the problem with free. Whenever people get something for free, the likelihood of them attaching any real value to it is minimal. The tendency is to forget all about it.
So how can you ensure that a reasonable amount of people will see any value in your freebie, by putting together a quality report that addresses in an incomplete manner the problems they are trying to solve.
Why incomplete? Because that’s what you’re complete product will address and the free report simply whets the appetite of your audience.
This is a very effective, time tested method for building a list and then redirecting them to your product or tightly related affiliate product once they opt-in.
However you don’t always have to give your product for free on the front end, you can sell it for $7 and have your buyers optin to register their download and build a list of buyers on the backend, but the main point is this…
People normally don’t pay attention, unless they pay money.
