Affiliate marketing is cool, but when you’re competing with thousands of other affiliates to market a particular program there has got to be a simple affiliate marketing tactic you can use to set yourself apart. Try this…

Instead of just putting up a website that just markets the product and begs people to buy from you, you can do one better by capitalizing on the traffic you drive to your affiliate site.

So what you’re going to need to do is create a short report around the topic of the product that you’re marketing. This doesn’t have to be difficult at all and I’m going to tell you exactly how to do it.

But you gotta promise me something… you have to try it.

O.k. so first you have to pick your product and if you already have one, great.

Look for 3 or 4 articles that are related to the product topic. So if you are promoting an article marketing product, look for article marketing articles.

Next, you have an option of using the articles as they are or you can rewrite each one so that the content is unique to you. If you choose to use the articles as is you’re going to have to include the author bio box and links which kind of  kills it a little bit.

Make sure to include your affiliate link at least two or three times in the report. Once in the beginning, somewhere in the middle and once at the end.

You’re going to need to convert your article into pdf format and for a quick and painless way to do this you can use Google docs. Once you’ve created a new document and put your short report in it, you can easily convert it to pdf by clicking on the ‘download  as’  and then select ‘PDF’ and presto!

Make sure to name your pdf something easy that you can remember so that you can find it on your hard drive and then upload the pdf to your website.

Now what you’re going to need to do is create an optin page so that you can give your free report away and once you’ve done that you can drive traffic to your squeeze page and redirect your optin subscribers to the sales letter of the product you’re promoting.

With that same pdf report you can submit it to document sites as well as slide show sites and you can upload it to free ebook directories as well.

What this method allows you to do is brand yourself and presell your visitors by offering them useful information. The key to influencing your readers to take you up on the suggested affiliate link in your report is to help them to see that the product you’re offering can help them to achieve the outcome of your reports information… faster.
