Just in case you aren’t familiar with linkwheels, it’s an effective system for creating one way links between a bunch of web 2.0 sites that point back to your main money site.
Well that’s a rough explanation, but to keep it brief, the key to success with linkwheels is not to accumulate too many links too fast. The majority of the people that use this link building method mostly use it to get affiliate review sites ranked on the search engines quickly.
So for instance, if there was a new product launching (when isn’t there?) you would put together a blog or static one page site reviewing the new product and for maximum effect you want to get the site to rank for the product keyword by the time it launches.
The best way to pursue this type of affiliate strategy is to find out about the launch at least a month in advance, because if you try this strategy too close to the launch you’re going to have to work ridiculously hard to make it happen.
So what’s the key to success with this strategy? As I mentioned before you need to start the strategy at least a month in advance and spread your work out.
Instead of trying to hammer out links every day, you need to give the serps a chance to rank your content. Every other day you can add another spoke to your wheel and as you continue to do this your site will climb the ranks quickly and will stay there.
If you just try to bang out a million links all at once, you’ll find yourself in the sandbox or the search engines will just take forever to rank your site.
O.k. so I hope that made some sense to you, but let me tell you something that most people don’t talk about and that’s this…
Many of those product launches don’t really pay off until about a month or two later and what you’ll see if you don’t completely abandon the money page you put up, it will start pulling in sales on autopilot.
I’ve experienced this on more than one occasion and to keep it going, all you have to do is write an article once or twice a week to keep the site ranked on the first page of the serps for the keyword.
Anyway, hope that helps you cash in on those launches. There is something else you should know, but I’ll put that in another post.
